Portland residential electrical services
Electrical work for new homes, remodels, additions, and ADUs across Portland, from temporary power to the final inspection, with the panel sized for what the house will need later as well as what it needs now.
What's included in a Portland residential project
We take on the whole electrical scope of the house, so circuits, lighting, EV charging, and backup power are planned together and installed by one crew. You have one contact for every electrical question, whether you hired us directly or through your builder.
New homes & additions
Complete wiring for new houses and additions, from temporary power through rough-in, trim-out, and final inspection. See all of our residential services. We price from the drawings and work to the builder's schedule.
Remodels & ADUs
Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, garage conversions, and accessory dwelling units. An ADU usually needs its own subpanel and often more capacity at the main house, so we check the load before the work is priced.
Panels & service upgrades
Load calculations, panel replacements, and service upgrades, sized for the circuits a remodel or addition adds and the equipment you plan to add later.
Lighting, EV charging & backup power
Recessed and accent lighting with controls, Level 2 EV chargers, and generators, wired alongside the rest of the house so the panel and the pathways are planned once.

Why choose Multiphase Electric
- One crew, pedestal to punch list. The same company sets your temp power, ropes the house, and hangs the last fixture. Nothing falls between two subcontractors, and there is one number to call about any of it.
- We hold the schedule. Rough-in that slips holds up insulation, drywall, and everyone after them. Builders keep calling us because our slot is the one that does not move.
- Wired for the house you'll actually live in. Where the island seating goes, which wall the TV lands on, whether a charger is coming. We ask before the walls close, because after they close it costs ten times as much.

How a project runs
Every Portland project follows the same steps, from the first walk-through to the final inspection. Each visit on site has an inspection attached, and we schedule them so nobody after us is kept waiting.
-
Walk-through and plan review
We walk the house or the lot and review the drawings before pricing anything. A panel without room for the new circuits, or a service that can't carry the new load, gets flagged now, while it is still inexpensive to solve.
-
Written scope and price
You get a written scope with a price and a timeline, priced from the drawings and the walk-through rather than a per-outlet count.
-
Permits and utility coordination
We pull the electrical permits for our scope and, when the service is changing, run the load calculation and open the request with PGE or Pacific Power early, since the utility's timeline usually sets the date.
-
Temporary power and rough-in
On a new build, temporary power goes in first so the site can work. Rough-in follows once the house is framed and dried in, and is inspected before insulation and drywall.
-
Trim-out and final inspection
Devices, fixtures, and the panel are finished and labeled, and we schedule the final inspection and meet the inspector on site.
-
Walkthrough and closeout
We walk the house with you so you know what sits on which breaker, and you receive the panel schedule, the inspection record, and warranty information.
What residential electrical projects cost in Portland
Every residential job is priced from the drawings and a walk-through, so these are typical ranges for the Portland metro, not a quote. What moves the number most is the size of the house, how much of the wiring is new, and whether the existing panel and service can carry the added load.
| Scope | Typical range | Timeline | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kitchen or bathroom remodel | $3,500 – $12,000 | 1–2 weeks, across rough-in and trim-out | New circuits for appliances and lighting, required GFCI and AFCI protection, panel changes, permits, and inspections. |
| ADU or addition | $10,000 – $30,000 | 2–4 weeks, spread over the build | Subpanel and feeder, all circuits and lighting, a load calculation for the main house, permits, and inspections. |
| New home electrical | $8 – $15 / sq ft | Three visits, spread over the build | Temporary power, rough-in, trim-out, the panel and service, and coordination of every inspection. |
| Panel or service upgrade | $3,000 – $8,000 | 1 day on site, plus utility scheduling | Load calculation, new panel or 200-amp service, meter base, and coordination with the utility. |

Portland residential electrical services FAQs
Do you take residential electrical projects in Portland?
Yes. We handle new homes, remodels, additions, ADUs, and electrical upgrades for houses across Portland and the rest of the metro.
Do you work directly with homeowners, or only through a builder?
Both. On a new build we usually work as the builder's electrical subcontractor, on their schedule. On a remodel or addition many owners hire us directly, and we coordinate with whoever else is on site.
Does my remodel need a panel upgrade?
Sometimes. A new kitchen, a new bathroom, or an addition all add circuits, and an older 100-amp panel may have neither the capacity nor the spaces. The load calculation is part of the estimate, so you know before the work starts.
Do you wire ADUs and garage conversions?
Yes. An ADU usually needs its own subpanel and often a service upgrade at the main house, plus its own permit. We handle the design, the utility coordination when a separate meter is wanted, and the inspections.
When do you need to be on site during a build?
Three times, roughly: temporary power before framing, rough-in once the house is framed and dried in, and trim-out after paint. Each has an inspection attached.
How long does the electrical work on a remodel take?
Most kitchen and bathroom remodels take one to two weeks of electrical work, split between rough-in and trim-out, with inspections in between. We give you a timeline with the estimate.
Do you patch the walls you open?
We keep access holes as small as the work allows and leave the site clean, but repairing finished surfaces isn't included unless the proposal says so. We tell you up front where we need to open a wall.
Who pulls the permits on a residential job?
We do, for our scope, and we schedule the inspections. Residential electrical work in Oregon is permitted, and you get the paperwork at the end.
