Finding the fault

Multiphase Electric provides professional electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair for residential and commercial electrical systems.

Whether you are dealing with tripping breakers, flickering lights, failed outlets, loss of power, or a more complex electrical issue, our electricians troubleshoot the system to identify the source of the problem and determine the appropriate repair.

Once the issue is identified, we explain our findings and provide repair options before proceeding with the work. Our diagnostic services cover electrical panels, breakers, circuits, wiring, lighting, outlets, switches, equipment power, and other electrical system problems.

When requesting service, photos of the electrical panel and problem area can help us prepare for the visit and arrive with the appropriate materials and equipment. Emergency electrical service is also available for power outages and other urgent electrical problems.

What we offer:

  • Professional troubleshooting for residential and commercial systems
  • Clear diagnosis to identify the source of the problem
  • Repair options explained before work begins
  • Emergency service available for urgent electrical issues

Why it stays fixed

  • The cause, not the symptom

A breaker that trips is telling you something. Resetting it is not a repair, and neither is replacing it — we find what the circuit is actually doing before anything gets swapped.

  • Often one visit

The photos you send with the request tell us what we're walking into, so the common parts are on the truck before we leave. One trip instead of a diagnosis followed by a return.

  • Repairs that pass inspection

A repair that needs a permit gets one, and gets inspected. Nothing is buried in a wall that the next electrician — or the next buyer's inspector — has to argue with.

Find the problem. Fix it right.

  1. Tell us what's happening

What stopped working, when it started, and whether anything changed just before. Photos of the panel and the problem area go a long way — they are often what lets us load the right part before we leave.

  2. Diagnosis on site

We test rather than guess: the circuit, the panel, the device, and the run between them, until the fault is located. Then you get told what it is and what the repair costs, before we do it.

  3. Repair, test, label

We explain what we found, review the repair options, and only then move forward with the work.

before you call

What to check before you call, and what to expect once we are there. If yours isn't here, call — we'll say over the phone.

  • The power is out completely — is that my problem or the utility's?

Check whether the neighbours have power, and whether your main breaker has tripped. If the street is dark it is PGE or Pacific Power and they are already on it. If it is just your building, or only part of it, that is ours — call and we will tell you over the phone which one it sounds like.

  • Do you come out after hours?

Yes. Emergency service is available outside normal hours, and an emergency request gets an answer the same day. If it is not an emergency, scheduling in normal hours costs you less.

  • My breaker keeps tripping. Can I just replace it?

Usually not, and it is worth understanding why. A breaker that trips is doing its job — the circuit is overloaded, or there is a short or a ground fault on it. Replacing the breaker without finding that removes the protection and leaves the fault. We trace it first.

  • Are flickering lights dangerous?

Sometimes. A single flickering fixture is often a loose lamp or a failing dimmer. Lights flickering across the building, or dimming when a large appliance starts, points at a loose connection or an undersized service — and a loose connection in a panel is a fire risk worth looking at soon rather than eventually.

  • What does a diagnostic visit cost?

We quote the visit when you call, and we quote the repair on site before doing it — you are not signing up for an open-ended hourly count. If the repair turns into a bigger project, the diagnosis carries into that estimate.

  • Will you repair work another contractor did?

Yes, and we do it often — including unpermitted work found during a sale. We will tell you plainly what is wrong with it, what has to be corrected to pass inspection, and what can be left alone.
