Commercial Electrical Services

Ground-up builds, tenant improvements, and the service upgrades new equipment forces, bid design-build or plan and spec. Power, lighting and controls, data, and EV charging ride together rather than as four subcontractors, which is why the GCs and owners we work for are not refereeing four subs to get one building energized.

Residential Electrical Services

New builds, remodels, additions, and ADUs, wired end to end by one crew — temp power on the empty lot through the final walkthrough. We price from the drawings rather than an outlet count, hold the slot the framing schedule gives us, and size the panel for the charger or the addition that comes later.

EV Charger Installation

A charger is only as good as the service behind it, whether that is one unit in a garage or a row of them in a fleet yard. We start from the capacity you already have — smart load management often gets there without upsizing — then run the dedicated circuit to code and to the manufacturer's spec.

Panel & Service Upgrades

Chargers, heat pumps, shops, and ADUs all land on a panel that was sized for a different decade. We measure what the building actually draws, take the utility and plan-review side off your hands, and size the new service for whatever comes after this project.

Electrical Diagnostics & Repair

Breakers that trip, lights that flicker, outlets that died, a building with no power at all. We trace the fault to its source rather than swapping parts until something works, quote the repair before we do it, and leave the circuit labeled. Emergency service is available when the power is out.

Knob & Tube Rewiring

Original knob-and-tube was never designed for a modern household, and many insurers are now reluctant to cover a home that still has it active. We have spent years in older Portland homes, so the old wiring is replaced or decommissioned with as little disruption to finished spaces as possible.

Generators & Backup Power

Wind, ice, and a limb across a line take the power out somewhere in the metro every winter. Standby generators, portable-generator inlets, and battery backup — whole home, partial, or only the circuits you cannot lose — sized against a real load calculation and wired to a transfer switch that handles the changeover for you.

Lighting & Controls Design

Most of what makes a room work is decided before a fixture is bought: where the light has to land, what dims with what, which scene anyone actually presses. Layout, fixtures, and Lutron RadioRA 3 control sit on one contract, and the Energy Trust rebate paperwork is ours to file, so the incentive is in the number you approve.

Data & Low Voltage Systems

Structured cabling, fiber, cameras, and network gear, installed by the same electricians running the power — one permit and one schedule instead of two trades negotiating over a pathway. New build or occupied retrofit, every drop is terminated, tested, and labeled at both ends before the rack is handed over.

questions, answered

The things people ask before they book. If yours isn't here, get in touch — we'd rather talk it through than have you guess.

  • What is knob-and-tube wiring?

Knob-and-tube wiring was installed between the 1880s and the 1940s — the first generation of home electrification. The system lacks proper grounding, and its insulation is brittle and prone to cracking and breaking down, which causes hazards and electrical issues. We recommend replacing it.

  • Should my knob-and-tube wiring be replaced?

Yes. For most homes that still have it, that is 120-plus years of use. The insulation becomes brittle and breaks down, causing electrical fires and hazardous conditions in your home. Multiphase Electric has 20-plus years in the remodeling industry and hundreds of homes improved. We can replace your old wiring in under a week in most cases, depending on the size of your house.

  • How long does a panel replacement take?

A panel replacement usually takes 8 to 10 hours, and you should expect to be without power for that duration. We tell you the window before we start so you can plan around the fridge and anyone working from home.

  • Can you provide a Level 2 EV charger?

Yes. Multiphase Electric LLC can supply any ChargePoint charger for your EV. If you already have a charger you'd like to use, we can install that for you as well.

  • Whole-home standby generator or portable — which is best for me?

Either way, we can help you make the right decision for your home and your area. Physical space requirements, fuel availability — natural gas versus propane — and cost all drive the decision. We'll do a free assessment of your home or business and provide an estimate.

  • Can the Wi-Fi signal in my home be improved?

Yes. Most homes run a single Wi-Fi router that can't cover every area. We can supply and install a mesh system, or work with your existing one, to create a wired backhaul — running Ethernet through select areas of the house. A wired-backhaul mesh handles gaming, streaming, and casual browsing all at once, as long as your service provider can support it.
